The Fakir Khana is an old 'haveli' type mansion, and is now the private museum of the famous Fakir Family of Lahore. It is one of the largest private museums in South Asia. Considered a hidden treasure of art: paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, Chinese porcelain, Persian carpets and countless masterpieces of Art, it is situated in Bhaatti Gate area, an old section of the Walled City of Lahore, in Punjab province of Pakistan.
The Museum gives the visitor interesting information on the culture and history of the Punjab. The exhibits of the museum include gifts from Queen Victoria and Maharajah Ranjit Singh to Fakir Syed Azizuddin and Fakir Syed Nooruddin who were ministers in his court. The Museum is currently managed by members of the Fakir Family. It is closed to the general public and visitations are by appointment only. Fakir Khana (Urdu: فقیر خانہ) is a private museum and house located in Lahore, Pakistan, owned by the Fakir family. Fakhir Khana contains over 20,000 objects, and is the largest privately owned museum in South Asia.

The Fakir family settled in Lahore around 1730, and established a publishing house.Their status in Lahore society derived from its connections to the Sikh Empire - three of the family's ancestors, Fakir Nooruddin, Fakir Azizuddin, and Fakir Imamuddin, served as emissaries to Maharaja Ranjit Singh.The family amassed a collection of objects, including many bestowed to the family by Ranjit Singh.The family opened their house as a museum open to the public in 1901, and the site receives some government funds for its maintenance.

If any one have interest in history of last 3-4 centuries than one must visit Fakir Khana Museum.
There will be Mr Almas (will guide you and explains the history) and also heir of Syed Fakir Family. Its a private museum.
Do take notebooks as there is alot to discover in there. Tremendous peices of maniature. There you will find orignal minature within maniature carved with gold pieces. Which one can varify at National Museum of Lahore at Mall Road (Section named Pakistan Movement).
